Frequently asked Questions and Answers
Q. Why should I publish via Net Authors ?
A. We believe that our business model offers you an excellent financial return for your creative
efforts, as we pay you and agreed percentage of the sales price for each item sold. This allows you
to concentrate all your efforts on creating new products.
Q. How do I deliver my Manuscript to you ?
A. We prefer submissions to be in a "Word Document" format. However, we can also accept type or hand
written submissions. We can even arrange for your books to be "ghost written" - all you have to do is
to supply us with the concept / plot.
Q. Who owns the Copyright to my work ?
A. You do ! All that we require is that you grant us the exclusive right to sell each submission for
a minimum period of five years following acceptance.
Q. How many Manuscripts must I supply you with ?
A. This is entirely up to you. We can handle 1 submission per year, or 1 per week. However, we do
reserve the right to refuse publication of any Manuscripts which we are not comfortable with.
Q. Do you charge any Fees to Authors ?
A. Yes. There is an initial administration fee of £245.00, followed by an annual charge of £95.00.
In return for these payments, we set-up and manage a personal website for you. This allows potential
and established customers to be informed of your activities and projects. If you wish, you can use the
email address linked to your website for your own personal use (we show you how). We also arrange for
the photographs to be included on your website and business cards.
Please note that we have an introductory offer for the first 20 Authors to join us - the
initial fee is reduced to £125.00. If you sell more than 500 copies of your publications in any one calendar year
all fees for that year are reimbursed.
Q. What is an ISBN and how do I get one ?
A. This stands for International Standard Book Number - it is the unique numbert which distinguishes your
work from all the others out there (look inside any book and you will see in the first few pages a line which
reads, for example "ISBN 0-491-03571-3". This is an important administrative task which we organise on your
behalf).
Q. How soon can I get started ?
A. Please use the contact form to get in touch. If your Manuscript is already completed and
available as a Word Document, we can have your website sorted out and your first publication online
within seven days.
Q. Can I visit your plush London offices ?
A. No you cannot - we don't have any ! Our business is run from home in North Norfolk, in the U.K. Whilst
we endeavour to meet with our Authors whenever possible, this is not really necessary. Once you have
joined our organisation we do provide you with a telephone number just in case you have any urgent issues
to resolve. Otherwise, all contact can be by via email.
